The short version
Today Cost Me is a personal travel blog. We don't sell your data, we don't use invasive tracking, and we don't serve ads. We use basic analytics to understand how many people visit the site and which pages are popular.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data — things like page views, approximate location (country level), and device type. This data helps us understand what content is useful and improve the site. No personal information is collected through analytics.
Contact form
If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not shared with third parties or added to any mailing list.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is stored by our email provider (Beehiiv). You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email. We never share your email with anyone.
Cookies
We use minimal cookies: your currency preference (stored in localStorage, not a cookie) and standard analytics cookies from Google Analytics. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any third-party tracking beyond basic analytics.
Affiliate links
Some links on our Helpful Links page are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We only recommend products and services we genuinely use.
Your rights
If you'd like your data removed or have questions about how we handle information, contact us via the contact page. We'll respond within 7 days.
